STS began upgrading their CCTV monitoring system in 2010. STS will be replacing and upgrading the upgrade to their detention control systems in January 2011. This facility provided a unique task in that there is one control room console with operational control of two parts of the facility. STS will complete this task in a two step process in order to allow staff to maintain the old system for a short period during the initial transfer to the new upgrade. When completed, the small control room will house three (3) 46" LCD CCTV ceiling mounted monitors and one single large touch screen control. This will replace two counter mounted old electronic control boards, separate inmate phone control switching, CCTV cameras added to facility with remote system viewing capability.
In 2010, Star*Tel Systems completed an upgraded to the facilities detention controls and CCTV camera monitoring systems. The project included new touch screen control incorporated with CCTV upgrading with remote viewing capabilities.
Star*Tel Systems completed the upgrade of the Marshall County Jail's CCTV camera monitoring system in November 2010. The upgrade included new cabling and adding over 20 new cameras to allow staff a more complete view of their facility. This system now allows remote access viewing by authorized staff from anywhere in the world. With new large LCD screen displays in their control room, deputies are able to see almost every area of the facility further enhancing the facility security for staff and inmates.
This upgrade comes after STS upgraded their control system in 2009 with touch screen control of door locking, intercoms, and camera control. Having the systems fully integrated allows staff to use state-of-the-art technology making their jobs easier and less frustrating to perform.
